The larger size of this 16.5-inch satchel also allows it to have a larger front pocket giving you much needed extra space to carry your tablet cell phone purse or wallet etc comfortably. To support its large size this comes standard with a wide shoulder strap. This satchel is not for the faint-hearted.

Monogramming

We can also add your monogram, typically your initials or first name, to the bag. This is normally positioned in the middle of the front flap or panel. Please note that full-stops and punctuation are counted as characters. Your selection is also CaSe-SeNsItIvE and items that are personalised with a monogram cannot be returned for a “full” refund (because there’s an alteration charge) so please choose wisely

Generally, we can fit around 6 characters on the bag, but some characters are slimmer than others, (Lowercase “i” for example is a lot thinner than an uppercase “W”) so we can sometimes fit around 8 letters or more in the same area.

Hidden Magnetic Fasteners

Traditionally our bags come fitted classic buckle fasteners (which is the default), but if you want hassle-free quick access then you can also choose to have hidden magnetic fasteners fitted behind the classic buckle.

Handle

Choose your preferred handle to add on to your perfect satchels. The bolt-on handle is put on to the satchel after it has been crafted and doesn’t change the shape of the front flap. The Briefcase handle is added during crafting and gives your satchel a more executive look. Keep in mind that when you choose the briefcase handle option the total height of the satchel will reduce by a couple of centimeters.

Strap Style

Change the standard 25mm wide strap to a 38mm wide strap for a more comfortable fit. Especially helpful when carrying heavy loads in your bag. Keep in mind that with this option you cannot have a shoulder pad.

Strap Length

Standard shoulder straps are designed to fit people sized between 5’6” (168cm) to 5’10” (178cm). Our customisation guide covers this in more detail.

Shoulder Pad

If you predict the contents of your bag are going to be heavy then you may want to help spread the weight on your shoulder by using a shoulder pad. The shoulder pad is removable and slips over the shoulder strap. The shoulder pad can be added on to our 19mm and our 25mm wide straps. The shoulder pad is a little curved so that it fits comfortably over your shoulder. It is lined with suede to help cushion the downward force on your shoulder.

Shoulder Pad Colour

Choose the shoulder pad colour to go with your new bag. If you prefer to have your shoulder pad in the same colour as that of your bag then leave this black. Please refer to our colour guide to better understand the colours.

Interchangeable Backpack and Shoulder Straps

Add the comfort of a backpack with these backpack straps. Wear it either way that is most comfortable for you. Especially recommended for those you commute a lot. And for those who love to ride the bicycle.

Volume Boost

Boost the volume of your bag’s gusset by 25mm to give you that extra space to carry all your important things.

Rear-Outer Slip Pocket

Add a rear-outer slip pocket to your new bag to get some extra space to store your items that require quick access. All this whilst staying true to our iconic style, design, and only using 100% real leather.

Introducing our big boy and big girl satchel. This large 16.5-inch satchel was designed to provide a solution for those who needed even more space than our 15-inch satchel. Carry around that 15-inch laptop with files books etc with ease and comfort.

Our master craftsmen designed and developed this 16.5-inch satchel with very careful consideration of its size and functionality. To achieve this they have used high quality ethically sourced heavy leather in Dayglow Green leather and stitched the satchel together with a cotton-nylon thread adding to its strength and durability. Additionally silver coloured metal rivets and traditional double buckle fasteners were used to help you keep all your important items securely inside the satchel at all times.

Without a doubt one of this satchel‘s main characteristics is its sheer size and volume it offers. The sturdy main compartment will hold a 15-inch laptop together with books documents files etc. The larger front pocket can carry a tablet a cell phone a card holder a purse or wallet at the same time making it easier to store them separately from the rest of your things.

To help with its large size and weight distribution a long adjustable wide shoulder strap (up to 4-foot) comes standard. The longer strap also allows you to wear it the way most comfortable for you either cross-body or over your shoulder. As with all our bags we have not forgotten to emboss our classic logo on the reverse ensuring you that its quality is second to none and that it is an authentic British handcrafted leather satchel.
